The Severn man - who chose to remain anonymous - says that he typically plays Lottery games once or twice a week, but forgot to pick up his regular midday Pick 5 ticket, going for the evening drawing instead with two tickets playing the numbers "12123."

Ultimately, he got to celebrate twice, but not after a serious of curious circumstances played out, leading to his victory.

According to the winner, he initially wanted to play numbers “1212” on Pick 4, but that number was already sold out, so he pivoted and decided to play “1212” with an added “3” straight on two Pick 5 tickets.

He's laughing his way to the bank now.

The winner, who works for ride-share companies, said that he plans to use the newfound cash on a new home and to bolster his savings.

The Maryland man purchased his winning ticket for the Friday, May 3 drawing at The Place on Telegraph Road in Odenton - which also won twice and will receive two $500 bonuses.
